Guards virtually any surface against corrosion and wear caused by exposure to moisture Low odor, 2-step process, easy application and usage Minimal wait time before exposure to water 2-step kit covers 10 - 15 sq. ft. Low Odor: Formulated with very low odor. I bought this locally, but thought it was such a great product that I had to review it. Neverwet comes in two spray cans, claiming to cover 15 sq ft. The first spray can is the base coat, the second is the top coat. The formula in the spray cans dries fairly quickly - for the base coat, it dried in about 10 minutes. The instructions recommend to lay down at least two coats of base before applying the top coat. The base coat is clear, so I would recommend at least two coats to make sure the area is covered. After the last base coat, the instructions tell you to wait 30 minutes and then apply the top coat. The top coat goes on and dries to become a frosty white. It is a lot easier to see what areas you missed when applying the top coat. The top coat is the part that actually repels water and will eventually wear down. After the whole thing cures (I waited about 12 hours) any liquid on the surface will simply bead up. It's really impressive, even on some more porous materials. I used this on some shoes and also a fiberboard litter box. When it rained, the water did bead up on my shoes, but it wasn't completely waterproof, which might be a good thing for shoes. The fiberboard is now protected enough if my cat makes a mess I have plenty of time to can clean it up before it is absorbed into the fiberboard.
